In 2021, my world shifted in an instant. One moment, life felt “normal,” and the next, I was facing something I never expected: a stroke. It’s a word I had heard before, but never imagined would apply to me. Recovery wasn’t just physical—it was emotional, mental, and spiritual. And yet, through it all, God never left my side.
At first, I felt afraid. Weak. Broken. I asked God why? Why now? Why me?
But slowly, He began to show me that even in brokenness, there is purpose. Even in weakness, there is strength. And even in silence, God speaks.
“But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
— 2 Corinthians 12:9 (ESV)
I learned to see miracles in the small things: a step I couldn’t take before. A word I could say again. A hug I could feel. Each moment became sacred.
People often think healing means going back to how things were. But healing, I’ve found, is letting God create something new with what remains. He doesn’t waste our pain. He uses it.
There were (and still are) hard days. Days when I grieve the loss of what I once could do. But I’ve also gained something I never want to lose—deeper faith. A softer heart. A clearer view of what truly matters.
If you’re facing something hard—an illness, grief, or loss—know this: God is still with you. He sees your pain. He walks with you, even when you can’t walk yourself.
You don’t have to be strong all the time. You just have to stay connected to the One who is.
Still standing. Still healing. Still believing.
And by God’s grace—so can you.
